We purchased the Serenity as part of our outdoor decking upgrade & still can't believe now easy it is to put up and equally pull down, now with LED light working are enjoying eating outside whenever possible.

I walked in to the Shadowspec factory one afternoon just a couple of days before Christmas. From the receptionist whom I met initially to the salesman who came to answer my questions I was dealt with politely, efficiently and professionally. I placed an order the following morning and just 24 hours later, when most of the staff had already left for their holidays, I collected my Shadowspec umbrella.

Assembly of the umbrella was a breeze following clear instructions downloaded from the internet and using simple tools together with a bit of common sense.

The design is truly excellent. Materials used are robust, well fit for purpose and I am confident my umbrella will last many years.

I am thoroughly pleased with my purchase and cannot praise Shadowspec highly enough.

'Was entirely positive'

We recently installed the Shadowspec SU10 Commercial Centrepole umbrella on our property and are very pleased with the result. Of robust construction, this umbrella is of thoughtful design right down to the tailored plastic washers used to fix the canvas to the metal frame. We installed the umbrella by bolting it directly to our concrete patio. For this we used an 8mm drill bit rated to drill into both concrete and rebar, allowing that there would be reinforcing in the concrete. As novice installers it seemed important to blow out the dust from the drilled hole with a cheap air pump before bolting the baseplate into position with 8mm x 100mm galvanized concrete bolts. Once the baseplate was secured it was then straightforward to bolt the umbrella to the baseplate using the procedure clarified in the Shadowspec installation video. We found some resistance when opening the umbrella for the first time with the winder. Pulling briefly on the long arms, as advised in the installation manual, released the resistance and thereafter operation of the umbrella was easy.

Overall our experience with Shadowspec management and staff was entirely positive and to the point via both phone and email. Anyone purchasing a shade umbrella will do well to explore what this company offers.

'Extremely well built'

Living in California, I was a little suspect about buying an umbrella from a New Zealand Company, though I later found out that they have a facility in Atlanta. One of my criteria for purchasing an umbrella was its ability to stand up to wind due to our location, so my online search query led me to the Shadowspec website. It stated that their umbrellas have been tested to withstand 25mph winds, and I never found any other umbrella that could come close to matching that claim.

I also found that their SU6 model can accommodate up to 4 separate/attached umbrellas on one stand, providing up to 400 square feet of shade coverage with a single mast, truly a remarkable engineering achievement. I only ordered one umbrella for now, but plan on adding more in the future as my outdoor space grows.

The quality of the umbrella is as good as anything I've seen, and although it's not inexpensive by any means, it's a commercial umbrella that is extremely well built, has no cables or pulls to break or wear out, and has one of the simplest and easiest mechanisms for opening or closing an umbrella for people of all sizes and strengths. It was also simple to assemble and set up.

But the best thing about Shadowspec might be there customer service and willingness to do whatever it takes to get you your umbrella when you need it. Many companies I checked with required a minimum of 30 days to deliver, and several required 6-8 weeks. I received my customized umbrella (stand, fabric, style) 6 business days after ordering, and that included a delivery truck change in order to accommodate the windy road our house is on. They were in contact with me the entire time, and even offered to cover the cost of a small van if needed to reach my house. And this was standard delivery, I could have gotten it sooner had I selected expedited delivery....pretty remarkable!

I had a couple of follow up inquiries about some hardware that they answered promptly, so in summary Shadowspec exceeded my expectations in all aspects, and I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a quality umbrella and top-notch customer service.

'Easily installed same afternoon'

'Well engineered product'

This is a well engineered product, not the cheapest for sure, but if you are looking for the kind of product that works in the way you would make it (if you were that skilled) then this could be for you. I brought one, then more than a year later brought another.

'I had delivery within the week'

I would highly recommend Shadowspec, I conducted a lot of time researching for a high quality product, I certainly got this with Shadow spec, along with exceptional service from all the team.

Shadowspec carry stock which meant I had delivery within the week. I installed the umbrella myself and was provided with instructions which made this very straight forward. The umbrella it's self was already assembled and once the ground work had been completed it was a straight forward process. I've been using the umbrella now for a couple of weeks, with the gas assist strut, ease of putting up, effectively one finger is required.

I'm sure with the quality and along with how good it looks that I'll get years of shade from the hot QLD sun. It would be nice to see them develop the light/app further, I'd like to see the ability to warm the light, currently a cool option only.
