The Shadowspec Serenity™ & Unity™ cantilever umbrellas are designed and built in-house by our experienced team with a robust development cycle, dynamic feedback loop and the best materials in the world. This enables the team at Shadowspec to produce, what we think is … the best umbrella in the world.
Your umbrella starts its life at Shadowspec Headquarters in New Zealand. Our in-house team works with a dynamic mix of data-driven design and real-world testing in our famous, pocket-micro-climates.
Umbrella concepts are sketched, iterated and developed with CAD and rapid prototyping technologies. Aluminum, 316 stainless steel and solution-dyed fabrics are combined to build umbrellas that are elegant and refined.

Spacious shade is delivered by our bespoke canopy design.
Like you, we expect the fabric canopies to last as long as the frame itself so, the only corners we cut in the canopy production with a precision laser CNC machine and automated cutting table.
The Shadowspec Serenity and Unity canopies are designed and sewn with the same attention to detail as the umbrella frames. The dedicated textile team design, cut and sew the Shadowspec canopies using the latest in canvas technology.
Umbrellas are shipped to our distribution centers around the world and when you’re ready to order – your choice of umbrella size, configuration, canopy color and mounting option are picked, sealed and delivered to you via our global distribution network.

Shadowspec’s propriety umbrellas are hand-built at our in-house facility. Our New Zealand-based production team build to spec for global markets, providing unrivalled quality control of the umbrellas.
Custom-Shadowspec-Space-grey masts – or curated Shadowspec-black-heron masts – are checked and assembled with tough resin hubs, precision stainless steel fastening and a high-grade aluminum framework.
Our patented technology that enables ease of use is installed before two rounds of quality control are run over the umbrella as it is checked against the original design to ensure every umbrella is dispatched to a high standard that we’re happy with, and of course, that you’ll be excited to receive.

Situated along the rugged, picturesque Tutukaka coastline, Christine and her husband’s new home is quintessential, with clever design, open-plan living and coastal charm, the location is perfect for friends and family. In need of shade for the exposed patio, an outdoor umbrella was the perfect option.
Christine’s shade story began in Whangarei’s Town Basin. World-renowned, the bustling harbourside space has excellent cafes, shops and the iconic Hundertwasser Art Museum.
